How to do PowerPoint right!

Here's another video on how to effectively do Power Point presentations. Thanks again, to Ed Ross for connecting me, unknowingly, to this video. Watch the video and learn. But if you want the best resource on this; then purchase Cliff Atkinson's book Beyond Bullet Points. It is by far the best resource I can offer. The video is about 20 minutes. Enjoy.

I did! I also liked Atkinson's book too. But this was very effective in a video format. I'm slowly becoming a powerpoint/presentation snob. But it's mainly because I have seen so many ineffective and horrid presentations. Going to be watching the Steve Jobs presentation...he does it best.

Ryan,
Did not know if you read my question over on Veith's blog re:
eugenics, but could you explain why
you commented on the book, “The Giver”? I’ve heard this book being recommended by teachers (although I admit I have not read it). Just wonder why you included it?
My wife also recommended it to our children so I would just like to know if I should correct her on something she may have missed. Thanks!

No problem crb! The Giver is about a 'futuristic' society that doesn't look too futuristic. It's about a special boy who is selected (jobs are selected by 'elders') at a young age, I think 13 or something, to be the 'giver'. There is some eugenics in it, the family consists of only 2 children (MUST be boy and girl) but they are not biological and once you get a certain age you are killed. But this boy, through the 'giver' realizes what's going on and that this society has lost something. It's a great book. I would recommend it for young adults as well as adults. You should read it. It is by far one of my favorite books.

Thanks! I loved it! Very keyed into the Atkinson way of presentations. I'm going to post that video on the blog. Keep on sending me more info.

This was very helpful, thank you Ryan! I think I've been guilty of the "overload" idea, and I'm trying to trim things down... thanks.
